Sauna is often associated with food. Traditionally sauna food used to be made also in sauna – on the sauna stove. Such a way of cooking helped to save wood and energy. Nowadays food is often made on a grill or in a fireplace. It is often not only the taste of a grilled food but also the process of cooking that people enjoy. The most common food after sauna is grilled sausages.  To go back to the Finnish traditions, you can either grill the sausage right on the stove rocks in a foil or on a specially made rack which is placed above the sauna stove.
